So...just like Kiandra predicted....her ride home from the canoe trip was also arranged without an issue. On the way back from where they were canoeing, they were able to make a little detour and Kezia and I met them in a convenience store parking lot. Kez and I had picked up A&W and we ate it outside while we waited to meet up with Kiandra.

We have named our new kitten Juilliard. She is named after the school of performing arts in NYC and the school Troy Bolton from High School Musical applied to in HSM 3. Juilliard (Jewels/Jules) is settling into life at our house. She is still a bit of a pest to Princeton and we still need to keep them separate when we aren't there to break up some of their disagreements but I think she is going to be good company and entertainment for Prince.

I was on kitchen duty again for day camp and I was able to watch Kaden and 4 other guy leaders have a water chugging contest.

Today Kaden arrived for day 2 of Day Camp in his staff shirt with his official application form in his hand...not just anyone can start working before they apply! :)

Last week when Kaden helped out for the group game at our church's day camp, he mentioned to the director that if they needed LITs (Leader in Training) that he was available. He was asked on Saturday if he wanted to join this week and for the next 2 weeks after that and Kaden accepted all 3 weeks. Today he had to be at church at 7:30am for the team meeting and I was the lucky one to be able to get up early to drop him off.

I've been faithfully getting 10 000 steps each day since Conrad surprised me with a fit bit as an anniversary present. Tonight as I was walking late on a secluded wooded path I came across a deer who was also out walking. We stared at each other for awhile and then I slowly continued on my way. Note to Self: stay on the more travelled roads next time!

We stopped in at Conrad's parent's place to swim this evening and this sign wasn't true tonight! Kiandra passed her NLS this afternoon and so tonight there WAS a lifeguard on duty! I am proud of Kiandra for "diving in" to this new challenge and I'm excited to see where this new role will take her.

There has been lots of time to just "be still" during this vacation which has been a change from our usual trips with the kids... we have had lots of time for reading, relaxing by the pool, and enjoying the sunshine.

Conrad asked me how I wanted to celebrate my 40th birthday...I said "go to Disney!" and he made it happen...So today we celebrated my 40th birthday on our 20th anniversary trip during Disneyland's 60th birthday year. It was a great day to celebrate everything!
