This girl had a busy day as she worked the evening shift today when her friends dropped her off after their visit with the new baby that the youth pastor welcomed to the family.

Had a long to-do list that was put on hold when Kiandra realized I was not at school because of Spring Break and she asked if we could FaceTime. Two hours later I had crossed nothing off my list but had spent a lovely afternoon with my newly 19 year old daughter.

Kezia and I went to Costco today to pick up a few things...I guess 4:00pm is a good time to go because we were able to gra the few things we needed and we were out in about 15 minutes.

There's a reason why Kezia does so well in school...she is a meticulous planner and is always prepared for anything the teachers might throw at her!

I was so happy to get this message from Kiandra today! After being out of regular contact with her for a few days since they moved I am glad to have the chance to connect with her more regularly again!

And just like that...the hockey bag is hung up after the end of another season....
No one thought they could push a team that had not lost all season to game 5 but they did.

Love that Kezia asked to go see a movie with us
Love that Kaden could get a ride to his hockey party

Kaden left for a jazz festival this afternoon and here are the snacks I sent for the ride:
Jazz crackers (it's a jazz festival :)
cinnamon gummy lips for mouths to play instruments and mouths to sing
star shaped cookies for being a superstar
rockets and pop rocks to rock the performances
excel mints because they will excel
and a marvellous chocolate bar to have a marvellous time.

Kezia sent this snap chat today as I was finishing up at school. Ninety minutes until doors open...for tonight's opening night show.

Even though time change makes it a little hard to get up in the morning, the daylight at 7:15 when we dropped the van off for Kezia was a welcome sight. One day until opening night!

It was "cue to cue" day for the cast and crew of Grease. I dropped Kezia off at school just before 10:00am and we dropped the van off for her around supper time and she got home at almost 11:00pm.

Conrad's car tire wasn't the only thing that burst today...Kaden's hope to progress to the championship also blew up with a 6-0 loss for his team.

Kezia and her study buddy...
She doesn't like to let people know how smart she is but I have to brag a little....Kezia struggled so hard in her Grade 6 math but worked like a maniac to understand and catch up on her missing skills. Today she told us that after 10 assignments and tests from this term in pre-cal she is sitting at a 92%. She was quick to say that it would probably go down after the next test but still....that's hard to believe from what she struggled with just a few years ago.

My mission today:
to be a good teacher (working on report card edits at 9:00pm)
to be a good Mom (staying late at school because the boy has a hockey practice 5 minutes away from 8:30-9:30pm)

Conrad had a day of errands today after not having a Thursday off for a few weeks. He took Kezia and Kaden to the dentist first thing in the morning, did some laundry and housework, and then took his new car for an oil change and a wash:

Fourteen years ago we bought this house.
It checked off all the requirements on my (long) dream list:
- at least 3 bedrooms
- at least 2 toilets
- all the bedrooms on one floor
- a useable basement
- fenced yard
- quiet street
- and close to a school
and also the 1 requirement on Conrad's dream list:
- a garage.
(Conrad said at the time that he should have made a bigger list since I got everything on my dream list!)

Sometimes we need to just trust that the God of the impossible will make it possible.
